Generative AI for every startup

The seeds of a machine learning (ML) paradigm shift have existed for decades, but with the availability of scalable compute capacity, the proliferation of data, and the rapid advancement of ML technologies, customers across industries are transforming their businesses. Generative AI tools like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard have captured widespread attention, and the appetite for investment keeps growing. According to a March 2023 PitchBook report, venture capitalists (VCs) are increasing their positions in generative AI—from $408 million in 2018 to $4.8 billion in 2021 and to $4.5 billion in 2022. Angel and seed deals have grown as well, with $358.3 million invested in 2022 compared with just $102.8 million in 2018.
