Poster: Evolution of In-Vehicle Networks

Topics Covered
  • In-Vehicle Network Test Solutions
  • Domain Controllers

Poster Overview

Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) are transforming In-Vehicle Network (IVN) architecture design. With vehicles now containing over a hundred ECUs, current distributed architectures have reached their limits. The industry is transitioning to domain or zonal controller architectures to simplify network design, reduce weight and cost, and maximize performance.

Domain controllers consolidate multiple ECU functions, enabling high-speed communications, sensor fusion, decision-making, and support for high-speed camera, radar, and LiDAR interfaces. This poster illustrates the evolution of IVNs from past to future and provides testing guidance for these advanced architectures.
